ARC is the design studio of Bromley Steel, a Christchurch workshop with nearly thirty years of structural fabrication behind it. Bring us your details and we make the steel, engineered, finished and installed to your intent.
Why specify ARC
We work from your drawings and details, holding the proportions, junctions and tolerances you have designed. Nothing is trimmed to fit a standard range.
Structural pieces are engineered and documented by Bromley Steel, with a PS1 producer statement provided where your consent requires one.
Stairs, balustrades and barriers are designed to the NZ Building Code, including F4 fall protection, so a piece is never beautiful but non-compliant.
Corten, blackened, brushed, powder-coat colour and powder-coated white. Request a physical sample set for your library.
From a single floating stair to a run of corten facade screens, the workshop scales from one-off pieces to commercial quantities.
We work alongside you and your builder, and we credit the practice on every project we publish. Your design, our fabrication.
Scope, clearly
ARC supplies the designed, engineered and finished steelwork, and organises the glazing for our Crittall-style windows and doors. Staircase treads, masonry surrounds, gate automation, pergola roofing and consent are completed by your builder or a specialist. We coordinate these directly so your programme runs clean.
How we work
Send us your plans, sections and details, even early ones. We review for fabrication and feasibility.
We develop shop drawings to your intent and issue a firm fixed price before anything is cut.
Where needed, the piece is engineered and a PS1 prepared to support consent.
Cut, welded and finished by hand in the Christchurch workshop, to your chosen finish.
We deliver and install the steel, coordinating with the builder for treads, glass and surrounds.
Involve us at design stage for the cleanest result. Bespoke steel is made, not stocked, so early is best.
